Ron Werneth has been interviewing American military veterans and recording their stories since he was a teenager. For more than twenty-five years, he has made it his personal mission to record and preserve the stories of World War II veterans from all sides of the conflict. Embarking on a two decade journey that included living in Japan for several years, he succeeded in meeting and interviewing the last surviving Japanese WWII Navy pilots and aircraft mechanics. For many, this was their the first opportunity to share their stories - especially with English-language readers.
In 2008, Ron Werneth published "Beyond Pearl Harbor: The Untold Stories of Japan's Naval Airmen", considered to be a groundbreaking book on World War II aviation. Ron Werneth has contributed regularly to numerous aviation and historical publications in the United States, Europe and around the world.
